The Pug Snug - Suffolk

I was thrilled to receive the call from Puglins inviting The Pug Snug to become part of their dog daycare camps. It’s an amazing opportunity with an incredible group of pug-loving people.

The Pug Snug transitioned from a dream to a reality just 3 months ago when a dear friend shared the idea with me. My dream had always been to live in the countryside surrounded by pugs! I moved from the town to the countryside with my pug, and now this dream is coming true!

The head of the household is Blossom, a 7-year-old fawn pug who was rescued 3 years ago by All Animals Rescue and Rehome Essex as an ex-breeder. She is possibly the most laid-back, chilled-out pug ever. Blossom is a very happy little girl who loves her food, treats, and cuddles, along with her special teddy bear. Known to the tradespeople as the supervisor, she loves to know exactly what’s happening and happily inspects any work being carried out! She recently had surgery for a luxating patella and a ripped cruciate ligament, but you would never know it by the way she runs around—there’s no keeping Blossom down! Her brother, Barney, is a 10-year-old small terrier cross rescued from The Dogs Trust. I inherited him from my Mum, and he’s an honorary pug! Barney is a shy boy but loves to play and walk when he comes out of his shell.

I’ve previously had two other wonderful pugs who made me a proud Mummy: Florence, known as Flo-Flo, and Little Betty Spaghetti. I bought Flo-Flo from an unscrupulous breeder when she was no longer 'producing,' and I quickly rescued her from that situation. Flo was a very poorly girl but incredibly tough, living until the grand age of 13. I gained extensive medical experience caring for her, including dealing with lung disease, BOAS, hemivertebrae, and more. Despite her challenges, she persevered—she was incredible. My Little Betty Spaghetti was adopted through the PDWRA. She was the tiniest little girl but had a huge personality! Betty was the boss from the moment she came home, demanding her needs with a paw stamp, being hysterically funny, and loving her food. Tragically, she passed away just after my Mum did. I have never had children; my pugs are my children. I’ve loved every one of my babies deeply, and I will love and commit to yours just the same.

The Pug Snug is located in a village called Great Barton, just 5 miles from Bury St Edmunds in the Suffolk countryside and 45 minutes from the coast. The property is surrounded by fields, woods, and wildlife, creating a quiet, relaxing, and tranquil environment. Last year, I inherited this fabulous large house and garden after losing my wonderful Mum, who would be thrilled with what I am doing. I have a lovely large garden with various sections for your pugs to explore and enjoy, a grassy area to play on, and in the summer, they can paddle in the puggling pools. There are paths and gravelled areas for them to wander, as well as shaded beds and a tent where your pugs can safely drift off in the warmth of the fresh air. Inside, there are licki-mats and toys galore for playtime, or if your pugs prefer snoozing, they can choose from many beds, doggy chairs, or the couch to relax and dream of bacon and cheese in a totally safe, loving, and comfortable environment.

Full walks will be taken down the lane by the fields, and if your pug is unable to walk far, I have a lovely doggy pushchair so they don’t miss out on the fun. My home is surrounded by cameras for security, has an intercom, and is gated, with a fenced perimeter for added safety.

I will care for your babies as if they were my own, with the love, care, and attention every pug deserves. I really look forward to meeting you and your gorgeous pugs soon and welcoming you to The Pug Snug for exceptional pug care services!
